On July 2nd at about 10:25 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 59 Gage St for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, they found an eighteen-year-old male gunshot victim lying on the ground. It was immediately apparent that the wound was serious, and officers delivered medical aid. A large crowd had formed, and officers assisted EMS in bringing the male to the ambulance. The Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit arrived to investigate and document the scene.
The eighteen-year-old victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Approximately half an hour later, officers were notified of another shooting that occurred in the area of Shrewsbury and Lyon St. A nineteen-year-old male was shot after a dispute with another male on Shrewsbury St. He was transported to the hospital, and his wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.
