On Tuesday, September 10th police arrested two males in connection with the homicide that occurred over the weekend at 64 Country Club Blvd.
On September 7, 2019 at approximately 6:33 PM Worcester Police were dispatched to the vicinity of 64 Country Club Blvd. for a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon. Upon arrival, police located a 37-year-old gunshot victim on the ground. The male was rushed to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was identified as 37-year-old Juan Mendez of Worcester.
On the morning of September 10th, members of the Vice Squad were conducting surveillance of the Millbury St area when they located Juan Gutierrez, who had a warrant out for his arrest. Mr. Gutierrez tried to flee on foot but was located on Endicott St. A search incident to arrest produced several bags of what is believed to be cocaine, and several bags of what appeared to be heroin. He was placed under arrest.
Kenneth Vazquez was located in the area of Lake Ave and was placed under arrest. Detectives had probable cause to charge both men with Murder.
Juan Guitierrez, 24, of 13 Brochue Street, Southbridge, was charged with Murder, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Class A with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Class B with Intent to Distribute and an Outstanding Warrant.
Kenneth Vazquez, 21, of 209 Coburn Ave, Worcester was charged with Murder, Resisting Arrest, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
They will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
