A swearing-in ceremony will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. in the Levi Lincoln Chamber, 3rd Floor, at City Hall for seven new police officers. The seven officers are part of the thirty-seven Worcester police candidates who were welcomed to the department on Monday during the first day of the Worcester Police Academy. Thirty recruits will attend the academy’s 25-week training program, while seven candidates have previous police academy training. These trained and experienced officers will be attending an orientation program prior to being sworn-in.
On Tuesday, the new officers will recite the Oath of Office and will be issued their Worcester Police badge. City Manager Edward M. Augustus, Jr. and Chief Steven M. Sargent will preside over the ceremony.
