On February 1st at about 11 AM, members of the Neighborhood Response Team were in plainclothes conducting surveillance in the area of Main and Chatham St. They observed a male, later identified as Antoine Armstrong, 21-years-old of 25 Queen St, who was aimlessly walking around the area. This is common behavior with street-level drug dealers.
Officers watched Mr. Armstrong for a short period, after which a female walked up to him. She appeared to give him paper money. Mr. Armstrong looked around in all directions, as if watching for the police, and then spit something out of his mouth and gave it to her. At this point, officers moved in and stopped the female, who had two small bags of what appeared to be crack-cocaine.
Officers then stopped Antoine Armstrong and placed him under arrest. While they were waiting for the wagon to transport him to the station, his phone kept ringing with people who were interested in buying crack cocaine. He was charged with Distribution of Cocaine, and Drug Violation within 1000’ of a School (The Worcester Public School Learning Center). He will be arraigned in Worcester District Court.
