On Tuesday September 3rd, 2019 at about 8 PM, the Worcester Police received a call about a serious pedestrian accident in the area of Catharine and Lincoln Street. Upon arrival, officers found a sixty-one-year-old Worcester man in the middle of Lincoln St. The man had been struck by a black vehicle and appeared to have serious injuries. Paramedics treated him and transported him to the hospital. The Crash Reconstruction Unit was activated and responded to investigate the crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed that two males had been walking west in the crosswalk across Lincoln St. A black SUV was traveling northeast on Lincoln St and struck one of the males in the crosswalk. The operator of the SUV was not injured, and stopped to assist the victim.
The victim was pronounced deceased on the morning of September 4th at the hospital. The crash is still under investigation.
