On March 12th at about 8:10 AM, Worcester Police received a call for a pedestrian accident involving an adult and a child in the area of 278 Grafton St. Responding officers arrived on scene with paramedics, who transported an adult male and his seven-year-old niece to the hospital. The Accident Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene to investigate the accident.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a gray Nissan Altima was travelling east on Grafton St. The pedestrians were crossing the street in front of 278 Grafton St when the Nissan struck both of them in the eastbound lane. Both of them were injured and are in stable condition. They were not in a crosswalk. The Nissan stopped immediately after striking the pedestrians, who the operator did not see prior to the crash. The crash is currently under investigation, and no criminal charges have been filed.
