On Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at approximately 6:00 AM police responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the vicinity of 300 St. Nicholas Avenue. The Accident Reconstruction Team was activated and arrived on scene.
The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The victim is a 62-year-old male from Worcester.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as a 26-year old male from Webster.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the operator of the vehicle was traveling in a 2002 Nissan Sentra on his way to work when the crash occurred. The operator was driving South down St. Nicholas Avenue and struck the pedestrian who was crossing from left to right.
The investigation continues.
