Worcester Housing Authority

Public Health provides one nurse who attends a bi-weekly clinic at eight of fourteen sites operated by the Worcester Housing Authority. Services provided at these sites include primary care, urgent care, prescription medications, phlebotomy, specialist referrals and diagnostic testing referrals. The nurse provides general wellness checks, consults with doctors, administers seasonal influenza vaccine and makes referrals as appropriate. In addition to the public health nurse, the clinics at the housing authority sites are staffed by a UMass Medical Center physician and a UMass Medical Center medical assistant. The Doctor and Medical Assistant also visit Centros Las Americas every Wednesday. The public health nurse works with the doctor and medical assistant to ensure that the needs of the clients served are addressed in a timely manner. Clients of all ages, races and genders are seen at each of the clinics.

  • Murray and Wellington Apartments, 50 Murray Avenue & 30 Wellington Street
  • Elm Park Towers, 425 Pleasant Street
  • Pleasant Tower Apartments, 275 Pleasant Street
