Worcester Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation

The mission of the Worcester Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (WAASE) is to develop prevention and intervention strategies designed to reduce/eliminate sexual exploitation and human trafficking in Worcester. We identify and respond to victims, traffickers, buyers and facilitators in order to improve the health and wellness of our community.

We strive for a community that recognizes sex trafficking as a crime induced by force, fraud or coercion; considers traffickers, buyers and facilitators criminals; and treats victims and survivors with dignity and respect.

WAASE was established in 2012 to build a system of support for women involved in sex trafficking. Through work groups and quarterly meetings, a Memorandum of Understanding was developed to outline the agreements and expectations of participating agencies and organizations.

The following agencies have joined the Alliance:

A Ray of Light

On behalf of the Worcester Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (WAASE), Spectrum Health Systems, Inc. lead A Ray of Light, a project to build a system of support for women involved in sex trafficking. A Ray of Light is a "train the trainer" model.
