    Wed. July 26 12:30pm-1:30pm

This group from NYC offers an interactive musical program, presenting Jazz and Blues styles that emanated from the Harlem Renaissance and from the southern United States. By explaining how much of true American music is steeped in blues and jazz roots, they will make a clear correlation from what is known to what has been and the Black history within. They will demonstrate the differences between “proper music” and “the devil’s music,” and the yearning of expressing oneself in a society riddled with corrupt pilgrim ideals. They also present their take on standard Americanisms by playing their own compositions and songs, many of which combine the musical elements of jazz and blues. By doing so, they showcase the fact that you can still compose and write music in standard genres and their pertaining diminutive styles. Please sign up for this program by calling 508-799-1232.
