Homeless Outreach Strategist

The City of Worcester Department of Health and Human Services seeks a dynamic professional who will serve as a homeless outreach specialist and a systems strategist. Reporting to the Commissioner of Health and Human Services or their designee, the Homeless Outreach Strategist will provide outreach and facilitate connection to services to individuals experiencing homelessness as well as work with organizational partners to improve the model of care of Worcester's homeless population.

A successful candidate must have a strong understanding of the social determinants of health, health equity, and the unique challenges experienced by individuals experiencing homelessness. The incumbent must have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong research and data experience and proficiency in electronic databases. The candidate must have experience maintaining records and writing reports; experience working with vulnerable populations; and must have excellent time management skills; and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Candidate must have access to transportation for frequent meetings and events throughout central MA and submit a cover letter with resume.

  • Bachelor's Degree in public health, health and human services, or a related field
  • Three to five years' experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Master's Degree in public health or a related field
  • Five to seven years' experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Experience working at a local health or human services agency or at a local nonprofit agency

SALARY: $55,810.20 - $68,040.86, annually, full-time, excellent benefits package
