The City of Worcester seeks applicants for the position of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Manager. In partnership with the Chief Diversity Officer, the primary role of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Manager is to help shape and support efforts to advance Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at the institutional and organizational levels. The DEI Manager will support the Chief Diversity Officer and a variety of municipal stakeholders in transforming and advancing the City of Worcester’s commitment to workforce Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This includes assisting with a variety of high priority/time sensitive projects such as but not limited to:

  • Strategic planning and strategy development
  • Research and data analysis
  • Marketing and recruitment
  • Outreach and engagement
  • Professional development
  • Policy development
  • Office administration

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Program management skills with the ability to gather data, measure outcomes, assess, plan, research, and execute projects with minimal supervision.
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of external and internal stakeholders.
  • Critical thinking skills and problem solving skills with the capacity to work through complex problems paying attention to detail and thinking rigorously and broadly about issues and challenges.
  • Must have data analyst skills which includes: gathering data, finding patterns, writing reports, and presenting findings.
  • Creative and innovative skills with the ability to think outside of the box and develop new ideas and initiatives.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and set goals.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an environment of ambiguity and constant change, managing multiple concurrent projects, setting priorities and driving them to completion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) subject matter expertise.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Experience in creating, maintaining, and growing new and existing social networks, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, FourSquare, Instagram, Google+, Facebook, and others.
  • Experience in marketing and recruitment.

SALARY RANGE: $57,792 - $75,596 annually, full-time, exempt, with an excellent benefits package.
