WORKDAY SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT
CITY OF WORCESTER

The City of Worcester’s Technical Services Department seeks applicants for Workday System Administrator to serve as the primary system and security administrator for the City’s new Workday (ERP) environment. The Workday System Administrator will be responsible for maintaining system integrity, defining and enforcing information security standards across the Workday platform; configuring Workday security roles and provision accounts; assigning and managing roles for users; as well as ensuring all Workday change requests follow change management standards. This position also designs and maintains business workflows, and monitors system performance. Other responsibilities include providing project management and support for system maintenance, upgrades and implementations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Broad experience managing and configuring Workday security;
  • In-depth understanding of Workday cross-functional components;
  • Experience as a Workday system administrator;
  • Understanding of security groups and roles, and role assignments;
  • Understanding of system architecture;
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with City of Worcester user community about concepts, ideas, and requirements;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to be versatile and handle multiple projects and re-prioritizations in a fast-paced organization;
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and make sound recommendations for resolution;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field;
  • Three (3) years of experience in Workday security and system administration;
  • Three (3) years of experience in full-lifecycle Workday implementations and upgrades; OR,
    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job will be considered in lieu of the above mentioned requirements.
  • Prior experience with Workday authentication and single sign on.
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in Workday security and system administration.
  • Five (5) years of experience in full-lifecycle Workday implementations and upgrades.
  • Workday Certification.

SALARY RANGE: $71,547.26 - $93,921.43 annually, full-time, with an excellent benefits package.
