The Department of Public Works & Parks seeks applicants for the position(s) of Golf Course Ranger to assist in the enforcement of golf course rules, regulations, and operation policies in order to effectively move players around Green Hill Golf Course. Rangers are at all times ambassadors of good will at the course, through friendly and equitable enforcement of rules. This position monitors all players on the golf course by checking all golf registration receipts, keeping the pace of play in accordance with posted golf course pace rating, and informing players of breaches in course rules & regulations, as well as golf course etiquette practices. Rangers are also charged with ensuring the rotation and general upkeep of golf carts.
The successful candidate will have a general understanding of golf, strong verbal communications skills, and strong interpersonal skills; basic knowledge of fee structures; and knowledge of basic point-of-sale (POS) operations. Additionally, they will have the ability to work well with the public/patrons; to learn, understand, and enforce the rules and regulations of the golf course; and to work weekends and holidays, as required. Golf rangers must be able to work all shifts between 6:00AM and dusk.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid MA Driver’s License
• Prior customer service experience
• Knowledge and understanding of the principles of Golf
SALARY RANGE: $12.75 hourly, temporary, non-benefitted
