The City of Worcester Division of Youth Opportunities is seeking qualified candidates to be Art Programming Leads for Recreation Worcester from November 2019 through May 2020. The programming lead staff will serve the roles of providing programming and curriculum to the Recreation Worcester participants. Responsibilities for this position will include executing programming, communicating policy and procedures to volunteers and youth, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and working with city employees to ensure quality of programming. The qualified candidates will have the ability to perform work with considerable independent judgment, creativity, and initiative.
Art Programming Leads are responsible for developing and executing curriculum for the art club; day-to-day management of program participants; facilitating team building activities including Social Emotional learning; executing end-of-year final presentation/performance; and adhering to program schedule and designated deadlines. Qualified candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check (CORI & SORI); complete all work with a social/emotional/culturally inclusive approach; have an updated physical (within last 12 months); have strong oral/written communications skills; have the ability to work collaboratively with community partners and families; be able to communicate/work with diverse populations/organizations/interests; be able to work independently and in a group setting.
STARTING SALARY: $13.00 hourly, part-time, temporary, non-benefitted
