Senior Transportation Planner

The Planning & Regulatory Services Division seeks to fill the position of Senior Transportation Planner. This newly created [SR1] position provides professional technical and administrative services related to the planning and implementation of transportation infrastructure and services for the City of Worcester. The Senior Planner works closely with other departments and agencies to develop policies, evaluate data, make recommendations, prioritize and coordinate transportation improvements, and track implementation. [SR2] Transportation Planner works in a professional office environment, and additionally conducts field work involving site visits.
The qualified candidate will have knowledge and experience in the planning of urban transportation modes, including walking, bicycling, transit and motor vehicles; experience preparing plans, studies, and technical reports; the ability to think critically, problem solve and apply research techniques; the ability to work collaboratively, with experience in public engagement and stakeholder coordination; the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; and have proficiency with personal computers and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
STARTING SALARY: $62,823 – $69,835 annually, excellent benefits package
