PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR II
DIVISION OF PUBLIC HEALTH
CITY OF WORCESTER

The City of Worcester seeks applicants for Project Administrator II to serve as liaison between the City of Worcester, regional municipalities, community based organizations, and other partners and funders. The Project Administrator will oversee and work with stakeholders on all aspects of assigned public health projects. Responsibilities include conducting public health policy research and developing plans for action, leading staff and coalitions in the implementation of program goals and objectives, monitoring and ensuring completion of all grant requirements and deliverables, assisting in compiling fiscal reports, guiding and supporting regional municipalities, community based organizations and other partners to ensure that processes and plans meet grant guidelines and engage the community, and collaborating with the Chief of Community Health to support Community Health Improvement Plan. This role requires flexibility to manage program activities outside of normal business hours. This position requires some night and weekend meetings and events.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong public speaking skills and strong attention to detail required;
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse, multicultural community, organizations, and staff;
  • Ability to conceptualize and organize projects into manageable tasks;
  • Ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to compile detailed quantitative data reports;
  • Ability to prepare written reports;
  • Ability to support administrative activities to include financial, and information technology.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Community Health or a related health field;
  • Three (3) years of experience managing projects/contracts related to Public Health, Healthcare Administration, and/or Community Health;
  • Prior experience developing and maintaining professional working relationships with community based and/or public health organizations; OR,
    • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job will be considered in lieu of the above requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Community Health or a related health field.
  • Five (5) years of experience with managing projects/contracts related to Public Health, Healthcare Administration, and/or Community Health.
  • Three (3) years of experience developing and maintaining professional working relationships with community based and/or public health organizations.
  • Previous experience with managing state and/or federal grant projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with public health or related field. This may include, but is not limited to, course work, internships, certifications, volunteer work and/or professional experience.

SALARY RANGE: $61,946.40 - $81,168.98 annually, full-time, exempt, with an excellent benefits package.
