The Division of Youth Opportunities in collaboration with the Cultural Development Division is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the role of Artist Mentor for the “Create 508 - Youth Creatives and Entrepreneurs program”. The mission of the program is to support youth leaders to drive Worcester’s culture, community, and business of art! The Artist Mentor will work closely with the Program Coordinator in facilitating the program sessions, mentoring youth participants, and supporting in the management of program logistics. The Artist Mentor will work directly with a cohort of youth participants and support them to advance their skills. Responsible for co-organizing and co-hosting a final community art event.

Successful candidates will have experience in the fields of arts and culture, youth development, and community organizing/event planning; experience organizing community art spaces, programs, and/or events; experience facilitating community programming; strong passion for creating positive social change in our community; and strong passion for arts and culture. Qualified candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; will have the ability to work as part of a team and be flexible; ability to build relationships with youth and community members; and the ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations.

• Experience facilitating and/or participating in arts and cultural/community programming
• Experience as an artist, creative and/or youth entrepreneurship
• Must pass a criminal background check (CORI & SORI)
• Must have an updated physical in the past 12 months

• Experience facilitating youth programming
• Experience working with children and families from diverse backgrounds
• Special interest in arts and culture

SALARY: $17.00 per hour, part-time, seasonal, non-benefitted.
