RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
MASSHIRE CENTRAL REGION
CITY OF WORCESTER

The City of Worcester seeks applicants for Resource Development Coordinator (Associate Director) is responsible for assisting the Executive Director with leading the MassHire Central Region Workforce Board (MCRWB) and with identifying and gathering the necessary resources needed for the development and implementation of the MCRWB’s programs and projects it oversees or is involved with, in accordance with appropriate program regulations as well as all relevant federal and state guidelines, and the MCRWB’s strategic plan. This position interacts with colleagues from the MCRWB, as well as staff from the one-stop career center, counterparts from community groups, public agencies, and the general public on a daily basis. Reporting and data tracking is required by program funders and the Board utilizing a variety of methods and platforms. This position assists with the day to day supervision of MCRWB interns and volunteers.

Coordinator requires a significant amount of professional independence, including developing new programs necessary to address the workforce development needs of the community. This position requires work outside the office at times and the ability to travel to outside events, meetings, and activities. The successful candidate will have strong leadership and interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); time management skills & attention to detail; the ability to interpret and follow local, state, and federal regulations to ensure successful program/project design & implementation; the ability to manage multiple complex programs/projects to achieve desired performance and outcomes within budgets/timelines; the ability to write and proofread structures, professional, persuasive proposals; and the ability to development strong relationships/partnerships with diverse regional workforce stakeholders.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, business management, communications/marketing or related field; OR, equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in grant writing and/or managing workforce development, job training programs, and/or projects
  • Working knowledge of the state/federal workforce system, funding sources, and regulations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in public administration, business management, communications/marketing or related field
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in grant writing and/or managing workforce development, job training programs, and/or projects
  • Professional experience with volunteer board development

SALARY RANGE: $59,546.18 - $78.017.40 annually, full-time
