The Division of Youth Opportunities seeks candidates for the seasonal position of Site Coordinator Academic Year, to coordinate Recreation Worcester academic year programs for middle school and high school students. The Coordinator is responsible for program development, staff training, conflict resolution, family engagement, staff supervision and the continued positive youth development of staff and youth participants. The Site Coordinator will work with the Youth Opportunities Division to support staff in the implementation of athletic, academic, arts and social emotional learning programs for various age groups through a trauma-informed lens. Work will be performed with considerable independent judgment, creativity, and initiative.

The qualified candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work effectively with diverse populations, organizations, and interests; the ability to work with students with special education/emotional needs; the ability to multitask; the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to provide and receive constructive feedback; the ability to work under minimal supervision; and the ability to build relationships and networking skills with participants, families, colleagues, and community members at various park sites during the summer programming.

• Six (6) months of previous supervisory experience
• Six (6) months of previous related experience with youth development work
• Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities
• Must pass a criminal background check (CORI & SORI)
• Must have an updated physical exam in the past 12 months
• Access to reliable transportation

• Experience creating conflict resolution workshops
• Experience creating restorative circles
• Experience providing positive youth development workshops

SALARY: $17.00 hourly, part-time, seasonal, non-benefitted.
