Notices & Announcements

Important Notice to Tax Payers:
The City of Worcester Assessor's Office is in the process of sending Data Collectors out to all properties in the City to gather information for property revaluation. This is part of the Assessor Office's Cyclical Inspection Program (also called the re-list and re-measure). The inspections are important to correctly assess a property's value. The MA Department of Revenue requires property re-inspections every nine (9) years.

The Data Collector who visits your home will ask to inspect the interior and exterior of your home. Accurate information about your property is necessary to create fair and equitable assessments. The Assessor's Office will not force a property owner to allow such an inspection, however, a refusal of inspection may result in a denial of any local assessment appeal.

Each Data Collector will wear a City of Worcester identification card; contractors will have KRT Company Identification and a letter of introduction from the Assessor. If they do not clearly show identification, do not allow the interior inspection and call the Assessor's Office at (508) 799-1098.
