Office of the City Treasurer and Collector of Taxes

The City of Worcester is seeking a professional for the position of Accountant in the Office of the City Treasurer to perform detailed work involving the application of knowledge of accounting and auditing theory and practice in examination of accounts, and to independently conduct reconciliations and examinations involving standardized procedures. Position requires knowledge of standard accounting procedures and principles including federal, state, and municipal accounting practices and regulations. Must have the ability to reconcile receivable accounts and bank accounts and analyze data to pinpoint and resolve variances.

Minimum Requirement: Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience in fund accounting desirable. Personal computer experience a must, specifically with Microsoft Excel.

Salary Range: $18.76 - $25.21 per hour, with an excellent benefits package; overtime as needed.
