Fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent light bulbs last for years and save energy, but must be disposed of properly and never thrown in the trash because of the mercury contained in the bulb.
Worcester residents can now recycle their unbroken, used fluorescent tubes and compact fluorescent bulbs every Wednesday and Saturday at the Residential Drop-Off Center, located at 1065 Millbury Street. Disposal is free and proof of residency is required. Help the environment and stay Green by taking advantage of this free program and disposing of all fluorescent bulbs properly.
