In 1909, a section of 14.87 acres was purchased from Mrs. Mary M. Kendrick and Miss. E. R. S. Kendrick. In 1912 the heirs of Charles Morgan added another .175 acres. There is currently a total of 15.05 acres.

This park is the home of the Joe Schwartz little league. It also has two softball fields and a basketball court.
