95 Grand Street, part of the former site of the historic Crompton Knowles Loomworks complex, is a 106,285 square foot parcel of land in the Main South Neighborhood Revitalization District. While the site was once home to several buildings in the Loomworks complex, the deteriorating structures at 95 Grand Street were demolished in 2011 to provide further redevelopment opportunities. The property is also within the Grand Street Adaptive Reuse Overlay Zone, where mixed-use development of residential, business, industrial, manufacturing, and institutional uses through the adaptive reuse of abandoned, vacant, or underutilized business or manufacturing properties is permitted.
The 95 Grand Street property is convenient and accessible to major transportation thoroughfares as well as rail centers, and is approximately one and one-half (1½) miles southwest of the City’s Central Business District. Main South is one of the oldest and most diverse neighborhoods in Worcester, and has been experiencing a significant amount of public and private investment in recent years which has begun to reclaim the area as a safe, active, and flourishing neighborhood.
