Program Name NRSA Housing Rehabilitation
Section Housing Development

To provide home repair assistance to owner-occupied houses in each of the five Neighborhoods Revitalization Strategy Areas (NRSAs). NRSA Housing Rehabilitation funds are intended to encourage homeowners in some of the most economically distressed neighborhoods to undertake improvements to their homes. NRSA funds are intended to supplement other public and private sources of funding.

  • Applicant must reside within one of the five (5) NRSA areas
  • Applicant must meet income restrictions and provide verification of tenant incomes if necessary
  • Applicant must agree to a five year lien on the property
  • Owner-occupied properties will receive priority for funding 
  • Corrections of Code violations will be prioritized

* Some requirements may change depending on the community-based development organization

  • Siding
  • Roofs
  • Porches
  • Code violations
  • Energy improvements
  • Heating
  • Plumbing
  • Other eligible capital improvements.
  • Accessibility modifications including ramps, widening of doors, grab bars, modifications to showers, sinks, and toilets.

*NRSA funds are not intended for cosmetic and home remodeling projects
