Generally, the City Council meets weekly on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM in the Council Chamber on the third floor of City Hall. During the summer months of July and August, the City Council generally meets three times. Meeting Schedule (118KB)
Beginning with the 2008-2009 City Council the Standing Committees were reorganized. The reorganization included renaming Commerce & Development to Economic Development, Education & College/University Relations to Education and Health to Public Health & Human Services. In addition, Rules and Legislative Affairs was added. Also, as part of the reorganization several committees were discontinued, however; their items will be included in other existing committees.
Community Development, Elder Affairs, Ethnic & Minority Affairs and Military Affairs are now inlcuded in the newly renamed Public Health & Human Services Committee. Housing & Neighborhood Revitalization, Land Use and Strategic Planning are now included in the newly renamed Economic Development Committee. Rules & Regulations, Legislative Affairs and Regional Affairs are now included in the newly created Rules & Legislative Affairs Committee. Fees & Charges is now included in the Municipal Operations Committee.
