District 5 Councilor

Councilor WallyMatthew E. Wally, of 61 Berwick Street, Vice President at UniBank for Savings, is serving his first two-year term as District Five Councilor.

District Five generally includes the following neighborhoods: Columbus Park, Stafford Street, Heard Street, Main Street from Webster Square to Cherry Valley, Airport Hill, Botany Bay, Mill Street, June Street, Neighborly Newton, Newton Square, Worcester State College, Tatnuck, West Tatnuck, Beaver Brook and Moreland Hill.


He is a graduate of Burncoat High School. He received a Bachelor degree in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master's Degree in Community Development & Planning from Clark University.


Councilor Wally is focused on making District 5 a great place, to live, work and play. He understands the importance of safe neighborhoods, well maintained parks and a strong public school system. He considers economic development policies that grow the tax base and increase the availability of well-paying jobs a major priority for the City.
