Frederick C. Rushton of 24 Stonehouse Lane, a Worcester attorney in private practice, is serving his third two-year term as Councilor-At-Large. He previously served as District Five Councilor and also as Vice-Chairperson.
He is a graduate of Doherty Memorial High School, Worcester. He received an AB in Colonial History from Hamilton College, Clinton, New York and a law degree from Suffolk Law School, Boston.
As Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Economic Development, he and his committee members consider all matters pertaining to economic development, neighborhood development, housing development, marketing, workforce development, zoning, planning and regulatory services functions of the City and energy.
Councilor Rushton considers an expansion of the commercial tax base by attracting bio-tech, education-releated and light manufacturing industry to Worcester to be an issue of high priority.
He is married to the former Lynn Early and is father to two sons, Frederick and Liam.
