William J. Eddy of 3 Barrows Road, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Association of Early Education and Care Providers, is serving his second two-year term as District Five Councilor.
District Five generally includes the following neighborhoods: Columbus Park, Stafford Street, Heard Street, main Street from Webster Square to Cherry Valley, Airport Hill, Mill Street, June Street, Neighborly Newton, Newton Square, Worcester State College, Tatnuck, West Tatnuck and Moreland Hill.
He is a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, Holden. He received a BA in History and Political Science from Worcester State College and a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
As Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Youth, Parks & Recreation, he and his committee members consider all matters involving youth, parks, playgrounds, recreation activities and Hope Cemetery.
Councilor Eddy believes that strengthening our neighborhoods and funding street and sidewalk construction as well as recreation programs for city youth are issues of high priority.
He is married to the former Margaret N. Donoghue and is the father of two sons, Brian and Brendan.
