Poet Laureate Application Seminar

    In preparation of the application deadline (November 13, 2019), the City of Worcester will host a public seminar in conjunction with the Worcester County Poetry Association and the Worcester Cultural Coalition. Those interested in the nomination and application process are encouraged to attend. The seminar will be led by Christopher Reilley, former Poet Laureate of Dedham, MA, and member of the judging panel.

    A brief tutorial will be followed by a Q&A session.

    One of two meeting chambers situated in Worcester City Hall, this room is named after Levi Lincoln, Jr. (1782 - 1868) an American lawyer and politician. He served as Governor of Massachusetts from 1825 to 1834 and in the United States Congress from 1834 to 1841. Born in Worcester he was a major civic and philanthropic force, owning and developing land in the city, and serving as its first mayor in 1848.
