    Worcester Celebrates Black History Month

    The City of Worcester Diversity Office will present its second Cultural Hour event focused on Black History Month. Presented by Chief Diversity Officer, Suja Chacko, Cultural Hour is a series of events to celebrate diversity and kindle the spirit of inclusion and cultural understanding that is integral to the City of Worcester.

    One of two meeting chambers situated in Worcester City Hall, this room is named after Levi Lincoln, Jr. (1782 - 1868) an American lawyer and politician. He served as Governor of Massachusetts from 1825 to 1834 and in the United States Congress from 1834 to 1841. Born in Worcester he was a major civic and philanthropic force, owning and developing land in the city, and serving as its first mayor in 1848.
