Worcester, MA (December 23, 2017) - Freezing rain and icy conditions are expected to continue through midday today. Those traveling are urged to drive and walk with caution as icy conditions persist on untreated surfaces.
The City of Worcester's Department of Public Works & Parks has been salting and sanding roadways since midday yesterday and currently has 47 sanders/salters out in the field. Crews have re-salted all main lines.
Motorists are urged to allow plenty of time if driving today and should maintain a safe distance between vehicles. The City's declared winter parking ban remains in effect.
The Worcester Common Oval will also be closed today for ice skating due to the weather.
