Worcester, MA (May 7, 2015) - In accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Revenue, Bureau of Local Services; "no interest is incurred on any property tax payment due on February 2, 2015 that was received by the collector on or before February 6, 2015".
"The purpose is to prevent any taxpayers who were unable to get to Municipal Offices or found them closed due to the snow storm, from being penalized."
Interest adjusted will be reflected on the related taxpayer accounts during the next billing cycle, as a reduction to the respective amounts due to the City of Worcester.
