The City of Worcester will officially launch the new Stigma Free Worcester App on Tuesday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Esther Howland Chamber at City Hall.
Stigma Free Worcester is a mobile smartphone app that provides local resources for substance abuse recovery, mental health support and housing. Users can get information on critical resources in the area such as clinics, hospitals, shelters and access to drug abuse and mental health care. The app is now available for download on both the iOS and Android platforms.
In collaboration with the city’s Department of Health & Human Services and Technical Services, the app was developed and marketed by two groups of students at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
The event will include an overall review of the year-long project as well as a video demonstration of how to download and use the app.
