City of Worcester Yard Waste, Bulk Waste Drop-Off Sites Open to Residents on Saturday, April 3; Spring Street Sweeping Program Begins

The Department of Public Works & Parks announces the opening of the City’s bulk and yard waste sites to Worcester residents on Saturday, April 3. The City also has started its Spring Street Sweeping Program.

The City’s three drop-off sites will be open Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

See locations below (proof of residency is required):

• 1065 Millbury St. — Yard Waste, Recycling, Bulk Waste (by appointment, fees apply)
• 290 Chandler St., across from Foley Stadium — Yard Waste Only
• 370 Clark St., near the intersection with East Mountain Street — Yard Waste Only

The Millbury Street site is also open Sundays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., for yard waste only, not bulk appointments.

Bulk drop-off is available at the Millbury Street site for a fee by appointment only on Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments must be made 48 hours in advance. Residents must provide an itemized list of items being dropped off upon scheduling. Proof of residency is required upon arrival to the drop-off site. Acceptable payments include exact cash or a check made out to the City of Worcester. No commercial waste or commercial vehicles will be allowed on site.

City employees will not be available to assist with removal of bulk waste from vehicles. Residents are required to arrange for their own assistance with large items. Face coverings are required when exiting vehicles.

The Spring Street Sweeping Program started March 1 with the cleaning of Major Arterial Streets, Monday-Friday, 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Residential Street Sweeping begins March 29, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents are reminded not to place yard waste in the street. Vehicles are not allowed to be parked in the street during scheduled Street Sweeping. Vehicles that are not in compliance will be tagged and towed, and owners may be fined up to $50.
