Transmitting informational communication relative to a forestry city-wide tree inventory update. # 10.9A CM April 5, 2022

Chairperson Counci`lor Mero-Carlson read the item and recognized the DPW Assistant Commissioner, who provided an update concerning the forestry city-wide tree inventory.

Chairperson Councilor Mero-Carlson then discussed the plans and timeline concerning replacing trees that have died, the funding for the tree planting program and the process to identify the location for tree planting with the DPW Assistant Commissioner.

Chairperson Councilor Mero-Carlson recognized Councilor Rose, who discussed what the free cash funding is intended for, what the potential budgeted funding is intended for, plan concerning diversifying the types of tree planted in the city, how many different types of trees are planted in the city and whether there are any concerning invasive insects with the DPW Assistant Commissioner.

Chairperson Councilor Mero-Carlson recognized the following speaker:
1. Greg Degermajian, Worcester resident, spoke neither in favor nor opposed to the item

Chairperson Councilor Mero-Carlson recognized the DPW Assistant Commissioner, who discussed the process to conduct the tree inventory, how to report issues relative to trees or stumps and the process concerning addressing said issues with Speaker #1.
