Order - That the City Council Standing Committee of Urban Technologies, Innovation and Environment hereby approves the minutes of the Urban Technologies, Innovation and Environment Committee meeting of January 31, 2022.

Chairperson Councilor Haxhiaj read the item and moved to adopt the order. Order adopted.

Communication of the City Manager

Transmitting informational communication relative to the First Year Report of the Municipal Electricity Aggregation Program. # 9.30A CM August 10, 2021

Attachments

Chairperson Councilor Haxhiaj read the item and recognized the Chief Sustainability Officer, who provided an overview of the Municipal Electricity Aggregation Program.

Chairperson Councilor Haxhiaj recognized Councilor Toomey, who discussed the number of people who opted out of the program and major marketing plans for the program to Worcester residents, including efforts relative to social media, talk shows and tv shows, and neighborhood meetings.

Chairperson Councilor Haxhiaj then discussed partnership with community group and/or providing multilingual services to promote the program, the number of people who opted to do 100% green plan and challenges concerning promotion of the option, the process of selecting service providers for the program, whether the sources of energy will change with the new contract

Chairperson Councilor Haxhiaj moved for recommend the item be filed.
