The Committee coordinated a discussion among the parties concerning the experiences of the several utilities during the December, 2008 crippling ice storm.

Chairman's Orders

Request City Manager report to the City Council within 60 days concerning how the city may facilitate a plan with Charter Communications, Verizon and National Grid Company to try to identify representatives from each of the utilities in preparation for better coordination during the next major weather-related emergency.

Request City Manager obtain a report from National Grid how they might communicate in the future with Charter Communications and Verizon during future weather-related emergencies.

Request City Manager request National Grid inform the City Council how they approach the ongoing job of systematically trimming trees in the public ways as well as on privately owned properties.

Request City Manager request National Grid provide the City Council with a list of their plans for future improvements to meet the challenges of future weather-related emergencies.
