Chairman's Orders

Request City Manager request the Worcester Healthy Baby Collaborative submit a report to City Council relative to infant mortality rates in Worcester.

Request the School Administration report the number of pregnant teenagers who have gone through the SAM’s program or any other similar program and the number of pregnant teenagers who did not participate in any program and report if they graduated or not.

Request City Manager request the Commissioner of Public Health provide to City Council with a report concerning overdose deaths.

Chairman's Orders

Request City Manager review and update it’s permitting requirements and enforcement of the ordinance or regulations dealing with the possession and care of exotic animals by residents and commercial establishments.

Request City Manager request the City Solicitor review the Model Ordinance prohibiting the use of wild and exotic animals in traveling shows and circuses (see attached) and present to City Council a proposed ordinance for the city of Worcester relative to the same. Further, request City Manager develop a protocol involving an interdisciplinary process or oversight for implementation of the proposed ordinance to include Animal Control, Board of Health and Inspectional Services.
