Chairman's Orders

Request the City Council Standing Committee on Public Health and Human Services consider the feasibility of the South Worcester Housing Recovery Proposal (see attachment).

Request the City Manager request the Worcester Public Schools Superintendent provide a report consisting of a breakdown, particularly in the identified targeted areas, identifying the transfer rate of children in and out of schools over a five year period and compare it to the rest of the city.

Request the City Manager request the Commissioner of Inspectional Services provide to the City Council Standing Committee on Public Health and Human Services Committee a list of all identified properties scheduled to be demolished under Chapter 139.

Chairman's Resolutions

That the City Council Standing Committee on Public Health and Human Services hereby supports, as its top priority, the city's foreclosure plan to employ outreach workers to counsel tenants living in properties soon to be foreclosed upon to inform them about their legal rights; further request the City Manager request the Director of Neighborhood Services schedule a preliminary meeting identifying costs associated with implementing the hiring of outreach workers.
