Chairman's Orders

Request City Manager report the number of livery companies and the number of independent livery drivers operating in the city.

Request City Manager provide a copy of the City of Bostonís Ordinance and Regulations regarding taxis and liveries.

Request City Manager report the number of fines levied against liveries or taxis, the number of fines not paid and the number of fines not paid, but the livery or taxi is still operating.

PENSION REFORM

2a.

Communication of the City Auditor transmitting informational communication regarding M.G.L. Chapter 176 of the Acts of 2011 (Pension Reform Act) Section 134 and how it now makes it mandatory for Retirement Board Members to annually disclose certain financial holdings and earnings information as well as meeting continuing education requirements and the new law also allows the City Council to increase the Retirement Board's stipend from $3,000.00 to $4,500.00 as of April 1, 2012. # 8b CC March 20, 2012

Chairman's Orders

Request City Manager provide the salaries of City Auditors/Comptrollers in communities of similar size to Worcester.

Chairman's Resolutions

That the City Council of the City of Worcester hereby authorizes the Committee on Municipal Operations to conduct a preliminary screening of the applicants for the position of City Auditor and to make its recommendation to the City Council of any number of applicants it deems qualified for consideration as finalists; and, Be it Further Resolved that the City Auditor be and he is hereby requested to assist the Committee in its preliminary screening of applicants; and, Be it Further Resolved that the City Manager be and he is hereby requested to make available the Director of Human Resources, Chief Financial Officer and the City Solicitor to assist the Committee in its preliminary screening of applicants.
