1.       Relative to Benchmark Figure to Compare City of Worcester to other Communities with Senior Centers, and Support other communities have for their Senior Centers.

Chairman’s Order  – Request City Manager to consider all future funds from co-locators and additional build-out at the Senior Center be identified for Senior Center services only.

 

Chairman’s Order – Request City Solicitor provide a legal opinion on the ability of the City Council to earmark funds for a specific department as opposed to the City Manager coming in with his budget.

 

2.                 Relative to adoption of Five Grant Resolutions.

1)     Council on Aging Formula & Service Incentive Grants from Mass. Exec. Office of Elder Affairs-Elder Nutrition Program, Client Advocacy, Council on Aging training & Senior Center capital and/or program costs.

2)     Corp. for National & Community Service Grant-Retired & Senior Volunteer Program

3)     Mass Exec. Office of Elder Affairs Grant-Retired & Senior Volunteer Program

4)     National Senior Citizens Education & Research Center Grant-Senior Aide Employment Program

5)     Central Mass Agency on Aging Health Promotion Project Grant-Maintaining the osteoporosis prevention program provided at the Senior Center.

Chairman’s Order – Request Administration provide quarterly reports relative to the Homeland Security grant as administered by the Office of

Elder Affairs.

 

Chairman’s Order – Request the Municipal Operations Committee forward to the Elder Affairs Committee the Elder Affairs and Senior Center section of the quarterly report from the City Manager.

         

3.       Relative to addenda to Benchmarking Worcester’s Future entitled Elder Services.
