          COMMUNICATIONS OF THE CITY MANAGER

 

1.       Request the sum of Five Million Nine Hundred Thirty Four Thousand ($5,934,000.00) be accepted from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Twenty Seventh Year Community Development Block Grant Program.

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager review the unexpended balances in the Community Development Block Grant account as an avenue for funding of the conceptual design for the Senior Center Courtyard and for providing a matching grant for the additional work to the balconies at the Senior Center facility. (for SR May 22)

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager review the unexpended balances in the Year 26 and Year 27 Community Development Block Grant accounts to assist neighborhood centers that face operational problems due to increased utility costs, and in particular for the sum of $3,500.00 for the South Worcester Neighborhood Center. (for SR May 22)

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Council request the Administration commit to return any financial award received as a result of the action being taken regarding the contamination of the Ty Cobb field be returned to the Parks Department for block grant eligible work.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager report to the City Council concerning the need for funding of parks improvements at Columbus Park.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager report to the City Council any plans for use of the unexpended balances in the Community Development Block Grant program in the account allocated to Greenwood Park.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager report on progress made in the funding of plans for development of the former Coes Knife property.

 

Chairman’s Order request the City Manager report if the proposed pedestrian lights on Mill Street are block grant eligible.
