CHAIRMAN'S ORDERS

1.

Request the City Manager to request the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works and Parks to clear the overgrowth along Mill Street at the following locations on the east side of Mill Street: along the waterline of Coes Pond between the beach and the Coes Knife Park, along the land that is under the jurisdiction of the Conservation Commission that is northerly of June Street Terrace, and the land that is northerly of the area of White Birch Drive.

2.

Request the City Manager request the Commissioner of the Department of Public Works and Parks to consider reviewing the travel lanes in Mill Street and recommending a reconfiguration of same in the interest of slowing motor vehicle traffic and enhancing the safety of pedestrians and cyclists.

3.

Request the City Manager report to the City Council concerning the feasibility and cost for the dredging of Coes Pond and Patch Reservoir.

4.

Request the City Manager to request the Fire Chief to install a reflective flag on a flex-pole on the fire hydrant in Conservation Commission property off Mill Street that is often concealed from public view by overgrowth of brush and trees.

5.

Request the City Manager request the Police Chief provide the City Council with statistics that reveal the number of infractions for motor vehicle speeding in Mill Street for the period immediately prior to and immediately following the City Council's request for stepped-up enforcement.

6.

Request to make public Gates Lane from the terminus of the existing public portion to Mill Street.

7.

Request the City Manager provide the City Council with timelines for the Mill Street Master Plan and for funding for the Coes Knife Park.

8.

Request the Standing Committee on Youth, Parks and Recreation meet with interested residents concerning the design of the Coes Knife Park.

9.

Request the Standing Committee on Land Use and the Ad Hoc Zoning Review Committee consider amending the chart itemizing the types of business uses allowed in a BL-1.0 zone to include health-related manufacturing uses which are not as intense as traditional manufacturing uses that are currently not allowed in said zone.

10.

Request the City Clerk to communicate in writing with all members of the Ad Hoc Mill Street Business Corridor Committee in advance of the next meeting, in the Chairperson's behalf, and request that members bring with them to the next meeting a list of criteria that the Committee might consider in formulating a recommendation for the re-use of the 195 Mill Street property and adjacent parcels.
