RECESSED HEARING: To determine tax rates for residential, commercial, industrial and personal properties for Fiscal Year 2017.

The Tax Classification Hearing was reconvened at 8:39 P.M. Testimony from the public concerning the Tax Classification was heard during Public Participation. Mayor Petty moved to accept the new tax rate options for Fiscal Year 2017 to Set the Tax Rate (see Item #16c). – Approved on a voice vote. Mayor Petty moved to amend Councilor Economou’s motion (see Item #10b) setting the tax rate using Line 199, as depicted in the table in Item #16c. – Approved on a voice vote. Mayor Petty moved to amend Councilor Mero-Carlson’s motion (see Item #10c) setting the tax rate using Line 221, as depicted in the table in Item #16c. –Approved on a voice vote. Mayor Petty moved to suspend the rules to take up Supplemental Item #21a. – Approved on a voice vote (Supplemental Item voted prior to setting the tax rate). Councilor Rivera moved to recommend for consideration Line 211 as depicted in the Table provided in the City Manager’s Communication Item #16c – That the tax rate for Fiscal Year 2017 be set at $19.39 for Residential Property and $32.38 for Commercial, Industrial and Personal Property. Councilor Economou’s motion for Line 199 was taken up and denied as amended on a roll call vote of 3 Yeas and 8 Nays (see Item #10b).
