You spoke, we listened! During the development of the Worcester Now | Next long-range plan, Worcester residents identified transportation as a key concern for the City's future. The Mobility Action Plan for Safe, Equitable and Sustainable Transportation (MAP) is a year-long planning effort to develop a program of transportation policies, projects and actions to enhance the safety, sustainability and equity of the City's transportation network.
Last summer, DTM staff spoke to hundreds of people around the City about what they see as transportation challenges and opportunities, as well as their vision and priorities for improving transportation in the City. DTM did this through focus groups, interviews, discussions at public events and a survey.
After consolidating and analyzing all the feedback that we received, we have developed the draft vision, goals and strategies for improving the transportation network. This process was informed by the public input we received as well as the data and analysis conducted on the existing system.
Thank you to everyone who attended our outreach events to learn more about this project and share your thoughts with us. If you missed those events, don't worry, you can still share your ideas with us. Meeting materials are available on our What is Map? page.
